Neurofeedback FAQs.

  • Neurofeedback is a learning process. It utilizes sensors to read brainwaves-electrical activity emitted from the activity of neurons firing-and provide feedback in the form of sound, visuals, or vibration to report the activity, allowing adjustment toward more optimal function.

Beyond those basics, there are many approaches to neurofeedback. We specialize in Infraslow Fluctuation training, which has a specifically potent effect for people struggling with stuck or chronic states and conditions.

  • Infraslow Fluctuation (ISF):

-Offers noticeable change, often from the first session

-Engages the autonomic nervous system, optimizing body and brain states concurrently

-Involves implicit, rather than explicit learning. We fine-tune the settings that access relaxed focus, then practice that, rather than rewarding “normalization.”

AND it’s the most potent tool we’ve witnessed in decades of providing care.

  • The International Society for Neuroregulation & Research lists hundreds of articles about the efficacy of neurofeedback, including for conditions we support: developmental trauma, CPTSD, PTSD, ADHD, addictive disorders, anxiety, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, depression, dissociative disorders, OCD, pain, migraine, insomnia, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s, peak performance .

  • We recommend 24 sessions to provide lasting change for simple presentations. Between 20-60 sessions are common, and people suffering from chronic conditions will often do much more, because they find such relief from doing this work.

We typically train one to two times per week, depending on how an individual’s needs respond to ISF neurofeedback. We’re looking for traction toward your goals, while avoiding overwhelm.
